Health and Safety Information

Health and safety are my top priority!
Each client is required to complete intake forms before your first session and keep your practitioner updated if something changes.  This information is protected by HIPPA.  It is important to share as much information to make sure that VST is safe for you.  There are certain medical conditions that VST may not be safe for, i.e. pregnancy, or having a pacemaker. If you have any concerns, please contact your medical doctor and gain clearance prior to having VST. 

 

Below is a list of conditions when VST cannot be performed. This list is not exhaustive, if you have a medical condition that is not listed, please let me know so that we may determine the best course of action prior to VST. I do not diagnose illness, disease, or physical or mental disorders, nor do I prescribe medical treatments or pharmaceuticals. As such clients cannot hold their practitioner, Adriana Dobbs or Serenity Sounds liable.

 

Please make sure you are healthy before your session. Having a session when you are ill may make you feel worse.  Please reschedule if you have a contagious, airborne, infectious disease such as but not limited to COVID19, flu, colds, sore throat due to strep throat, shingles, etc.

**COVID19 Update: Masks are currently optional. I am currenlty not wearing a mask during sessions unless it is requested.   Please see the FAQs page for additional information about VST and your session.  Thank you for your cooperation in keeping everyone safe!

Health Conditions when VST cannot be performed: 

  • Client has a contagious or infectious illness.

  • Client is in shock, is having or just had a stroke or a heart attack (acute stage).  After six months, and past the acute phase and physician authorizes client to have VST you can talk with me about scheduling a session.

  • Intoxicated - VST cannot be performed if under the influence of drugs or alcohol 

  • Aneurysm

  • High fever

  • Right after a major injury

  • Meningitis

  • Severe unexplained internal pain

  • Hemorrhage 

  • Atherosclerosis/arteriosclerosis

  • Acute pneumonia

  • Pregnant or trying to conceive 

  • Hemophilia

  • Advanced kidney failure

  • Respiratory failure

  • Liver failure

  • Person suffering from appendicitis

  • Metastatic cancer (i.e. lymphoma, malignant melanoma)

  • Diabetes Mellitus 1 or 2 with advanced heart or kidney disease or advanced vascular complications

  • Sudden onset of severe undiagnosed headache

  • Advanced organ failure

  • Pitting edema

  • Chronic active hepatitis

  • Infective and non-infective endocarditis/pericarditis

  • Lung abscess or lung tumor

  • Sepsis or bacteremia

  • Infectious skin condition

  • If you have epilepsy or any other neurological condition, VST cannot be applied until you obtain written medical clearance from your doctor.

Please notify your practitioner if any of the following apply so we can avoid the area or modify the therapy during your session: 

  • Areas of acute inflammation

  • Pace maker or heart condition

  • Acute flare-up of inflammatory arthritis (Rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus)

  • Erythematosus

  • Ankylosing spondylitis, Reiter’s syndrome

  • Acute neuritis

  • Burns, causalgia

  • Local contagious conditions

  • Deep vein thrombosis, undiagnosed lump, cysts

  • Open wounds

  • Phlebitis

  • Severe varicose veins

  • Buerger’s disease

  • Acute Trigeminal neuralgia

  • Venomous bites
